A lecture delivered by Vincent Melzac at the National Collection of Fine Arts. Melzac speaks of his early friendships with Willem De Kooning and Franz Kline; the development of his art collection; his business career; his appointment to the board of trustees of the Washington Gallery of Modern Art and to the board of governors of the Corcoran Gallery. He discusses the problems facing museums, including fundraising, budgeting, investments, and staff management.
